Adjara

Merab Bolkvadze - project beneficiary from Ochkhamuri village, Kobuleti Municipality. He holds 1 ha land, on which raspberry is cultivated. Within the framework of the project, a modern berry garden was set up and a drip irrigation system and espalier system arranged on the farmer’s plot. The demonstration plot holder was provided with organic fertilizers and pesticides.

In 2017-2019, on a berry demonstration plot in Kakheti several thematic trainings took place, where over 150 beneficiaries were retrained. The participants were trained in a berry garden’s planting and care as well as in its pruning and shaping.

Tengiz Kartsivadze - holder of a kiwi demonstration plot from Adjara. The plot is located in Ochkhamuri village of Kobuleti Municipality. Within the framework of the project, a modern kiwi plantation was set up on a 0.5 ha land area, a drip irrigation system was arranged and the farmer was provided with organic fertilizers and pesticides.

In 2016, a training on kiwi garden planting and care, attended by up to 40 persons, was conducted on the kiwi demonstration plot.


Kakheti

Glakho Kharaishvili – project beneficiary from Baisubani village of Lagodekhi Municipality. He holds 7000 sq. m land area, where raspberry is grown. Within the framework of the project, a modern berry garden was set up on his plot, drip irrigation and espalier systems were arranged; the farmer was provided with organic fertilizers and pesticides.

In 2017-2019, on a berry demonstration plot in Kakheti several thematic trainings took place, where over 300 beneficiaries were retrained. The participants were trained in a berry garden’s planting and care as well as in its pruning and shaping, also on the issues of product marketing.

Gogi Kurtsikashvili – holder of a windbreak demo model from Vardisubani village of Telavi municipality. The land area held by him makes 0.5 ha, where the farmer grows an annual crop. The plot has a windbreak, which is 50 m long and 9 m wide. The following work was carried out to arrange the windbreak: a 118 m long perimeter was fenced and wire mesh was fixed on steel poles, the planting places were marked and 0.5x0.5 m beds were arranged, on which 100 cypresses, maple and mulberry trees were planted.

In 2018-2019, several trainings in connection with the arrangement of a windbreak were conducted in Kakheti region, where up to 150 interested farmers were retrained.

Simon Ruadze – beneficiary from Kakheti. Within the framework of the project, a drip irrigation system and an anti-hail net were mounted on a 1 ha peach garden in Chumlaki village of Gurjaani Municipality The farmer was provided with an annual store of bio-fertilizer, plastic mulch for the orchard and farm implements.

In 2016-2019, several thematic trainings in the peach garden laying and product marketing took place in Kakheti region, where up to 200 interested farmers were retrained. The participants were trained in a peach garden’s planting and care. Practical field trainings in pruning and shaping, as well as in for plant treatment bio-preparations and methods of pest and insect control were held.

Tamaz Kharaishvili – owner of a vegetable nursery-garden in Podaani village in Lagodekhi municipality, Kakheti region. The demo plot’s area makes 100 sq. m, where a nursery-garden was set up; the farmer was also given organic fertilizers and pesticides.

Zaza Chikvaidze - holder of a windbreak demo model in Vardisubani village of Telavi municipality. The land area held by him makes 6.7 ha, out of which 5 ha are under a vineyard, while 1.7 ha is sawn to annual crops: wheat, sunflower, etc. The plot has a windbreak, which is 170 m long and 8 m wide. The following work was carried out to arrange the windbreak: a 356 m long perimeter was fenced and wire mesh was fixed on steel poles, the planting places were marked and 0.4x0.4 m beds were arranged, on which 340 cypresses, maple, ash and mulberry trees were planted.

In 2018-2019, several trainings in connection with the arrangement of a windbreak were conducted in Kakheti region, where up to 150 interested farmers were retrained.


Samegrelo

Gimzer Kokaia – holder of a persimmon demo model in Najakhaoshi village of Martvili municipality, Samegrelo region. The plot area makes 0.5 ha, where the farmer grows persimmon. Within the framework of the project, a drip irrigation system was mounted; the farmer was also provided with organic fertilizers and pesticides.

In 2016-2019, several thematic trainings took place in Samegrelo region. The interested farmers were trained in a persimmon garden planting and care, pruning and shaping and in the issues of marketing. Over 200 interested farmers were trained.

Revaz Kukava - holder of a bay leaf demo plot in Khamiskuri village of Khobi municipality, Samegrelo region. The demo plot area makes 6000 sq. m, where the farmer grows bay leaf for years. Within the framework of the project, a drip irrigation system was mounted and the farmer was provided with organic fertilizers and pesticides.

In 2018-2019, several thematic trainings in the bay leaf garden planting and care and product marketing were conducted and over 200 interested farmers were retrained.

Giorgi Gorgadze - holder of a conservation agriculture and vermicompost demo model in Akhalsopeli village, Samegrelo region. Within the framework of the project, a 60 sq. m temporary building was erected in the yard of his house to accommodate a vermicompost farm. The farmer was provided with 40 earthworm families and pesticides.

In 2018-2019, trainings in a vermicompost farm setting up, preparation of organic fertilizers and the corresponding marketing were conducted, where over 150 interested farmers were retrained. They were trained in bio-humus as the best organic fertilizer, got familiarized with a compost making procedure, raised awareness about the useful properties of a bio-fertilizer prepared by earthworms in the vermicompost farm.


Shida Kartli

Aleksandre Gegelashvili - project beneficiary from Zemo Khvedureti village of Kareli municipality. He holds 1 ha land, on which raspberry is cultivated. Within the framework of the project, a modern berry garden was set up and a drip irrigation system and espalier system arranged on the farmer’s plot. The demonstration plot holder was provided with organic fertilizers and pesticides.

Nodar Tsitsagi - owner of a vegetable nursery-garden in Akhalubani village of Gori municipality. The demo plot’s area makes 100 sq. m, where a nursery-garden was set up; the farmer was also given organic fertilizers and pesticides.

In 2017-2019, thematic trainings in setting up a nursery garden were attended by over 170 interested farmers were conducted on the demo plot.

Piruz Bazandarashvili - holder of a windbreak demo model in Karaleti village of Gori municipality. The length of his windbreak makes 200 m, the width – 6 m. Before arranging the windbreak the planting places were marked and planting beds were arranged, on which 400 evergreen cypress and ash trees were planted.

In 2018-2019, several trainings in connection with the arrangement of a windbreak were conducted in Kakheti region, where up to 100 interested farmers were retrained.

Giorgi Kokozashvili - holder of an apple demo model in Ergneti village of Gori municipality. Within the framework of the project, on 1 ha area of the plot am anti-hail net and a drip irrigation system were mounted. The farmer was provided with an annual stock of organic fertilizers and pesticides.

In 2017-2019, trainings in apple pruning/shaping, harvesting and product marketing took place on the demo plot. Over 200 interested farmers were trained in the issues of apple garden care.

Zaza Kharibegashvili - holder of a vermicompost and compost demo model arranged in Karaleti village of Gori municipality, Shida Kartli. Within the framework of the project, a 60 sq. m temporary building was erected in the yard of his house to accommodate a vermicompost farm. The farmer was provided with 40 earthworm families and pesticides.

In 2018-2019, trainings in a vermicompost farm setting up, preparation of organic fertilizers and the corresponding marketing were conducted in Shida Kartli, where over 150 interested farmers were retrained. Racha

Manuchar Gobejishvili – holder of a beekeeping demonstration model in Racha. Within the framework of the project, his premises located in Nigvznari village of Oni municipality, which were repaired with co-financing, accommodated a honey extractor/centrifuge made in Europe. In addition, the farmer was provided with necessary equipment.

Within the framework of the project, 21 honeybee colonies and hives are to be delivered to the farmer. Concurrently, the conduct of thematic trainings on the demo plot is planned.


Kazbegi

Nodar Tsamalaidze - holder of a beekeeping demonstration model in Sioni village of Kazbegi municipality, Mtskheta-Tianeti region. Within the framework of the project, his premises repaired with co-financing are to accommodate a European honey extractor/centrifuge made and beekeeping equipment. In addition, the farmer was provided with 21 honeybee colonies and hives. The conduct of thematic trainings on the demo plot is planned.
